FIRST-TIME PARENTS
First time parents are required to take a Baptism class that is on the 2nd Sunday of each month. Parents are to go to the 12:00 pm Mass. Stay in the Church, after the Mass, for the class. There is no need to sign up before the class, but please sign in when at the class.
GODPARENTS
The requirement for a godparent are on the sponsor form. Godparents are to read the sponsor form, sign it and bring it to their Church to have signed and the parish seal put on it.
A Christian Witness needs to read and sign the sponsor form.
SCHEDULING A BAPTISM
To schedule a baptism, please contact the Rectory office at (516) 746-6585, ext. 1. For those requesting a private baptism, arrangements must first be made directly with a Priest or Deacon who will officiate. After securing a celebrant, please contact the Parish Rectory to confirm the availability of the Church. It is not the responsibility for someone in the Rectory to find a Priest or Deacon .
A copy of the child’s birth certificate is required.

WHAT IF I HAVEN’T BEEN TO CONFESSION IN A LONG TIME?
Whether you confessed last week, last month, last year, last decade, or even longer, be not afraid. The priests at St. Aidan’s are ready and willing to help you confess your sins.
WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW THE PRAYERS?
Simply inform the priest you do not remember the prayers and they will walk you through them.

Typically students receive the Sacrament of Confirmation during the fall of 9th grade. We average slightly more than 200 students per year. As part of their preparation for Confirmation we ask our 7th and 8th grade students to participate in some form of community service. These students perform approximately 3,000 volunteer hours in service to the parish and community annually.
ADULT CONFIRMATION
Often enough it happens that an adult has not been confirmed and wishes to receive the sacrament. We can readily accommodate you. Just call the Rectory and arrangements will be made for you to receive appropriate instruction. In our Diocese of Rockville Centre adults are confirmed at Pentecost because of a generous faculty given by our bishop to confirm on that day. In other cases the priest may simply apply to the bishop for a faculty to confirm and it is readily given.

Couples who are contemplating marriage should contact the Rectory at least 6 months in advance and not before to plan their wedding and arrange for the instructions before marriage (Pre-Cana.) We will help and make your celebration beautiful and memorable.
FOCCUS (Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding and Study)
FOCCUS is an inventory tool that helps couples preparing for the sacrament of Matrimony to discern potential views and areas of dissension that may need further discussion. This inventory seeks to help these couples come to greater communication and understanding before they begin their married life together. Trained volunteers meet and discuss with the couple the results of their FOCCUS inventory and help them to use those results to prepare for the Sacrament of Matrimony. Visit DRVC.org for more info.
PRE-CANA
Engaged Couples should contact one of the priests as soon as possible after their engagement to set up a Pre-Nuptial Interview (PNI), and to register for FOCCUS (a compatibility survey) and Pre-Cana.
St. Aidan’s Pre-Cana program works with those engaged couples who are entering into the Sacrament of marriage. During the Pre-Cana Marriage Preparation course, we will discuss many subjects that touch on Marriage, such as: The Choice to Love; Theology of Marriage; Children; Family of Origin; Finances; Spirituality; and Human Sexuality. It is our desire that you know as much as possible about that one special person who you will call husband or wife, and that you truly understand what Marriage is and the absolute commitment that you are about to enter. It is our hope to provide you with a solid footing and understanding so that you may truly begin to build a “Household of Faith” – your Married Life Together.
