CHOIRS
All parishioners who love sacred music are warmly invited to contribute their talents in one of Saint Aidan's choirs.
ANGEL CHOIR
Children, boys and girls, from grades 1st through 3rd, sings at 2 masses per month, as well as a series of church sponsored events, including the Christmas Pageant, the Senior Breakfast and the Lenten Soup Supper. Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 3:15pm to 4pm in the St. Aidan Children's Choir Room, located in the St. Aidan Convent building. Reagan Stone, assistant director.
ST. AIDAN CHOIR
open to all parishioners 13 years of age and older, sings weekly at the 12:00pm Sunday Mass. Music-reading is helpful, but not required! We are always looking for committed adults to share their time and talents. The Parish Community Choir sings a wide variety of repertoire—from modern songs to traditional hymns, pieces by the Classical and Romantic masters to Gregorian chant, spirituals and more. The choir also sings at special events and concerts, such as the All Souls, Christmas and Spring Concerts.
Rehearsals are on Thursdays 7:30 - 9:00pm.
GIRL'S CHOIR
open to all students in grades 3-8, sings at the 10:30am Sunday mass. In addition to the standard congregational songs, the Children’s Choir also learns and prepares choral anthems, sometimes in 2-3 parts; they also sing at special events in the concert season, such as the Christmas and Spring Concerts. Rehearsals are Tuesdays 3:15 - 4:30pm
CELESTIAL CHOIR
open to students in grades 7-12, sings at the 5PM mass on the second Saturday of each month. The Celestial Choir prepares more challenging repertoire for liturgies and members are afforded more opportunities to be heard individually or in small groups.
Rehearsals are Tuesdays 6:15 – 7:30 pm.
WOMEN'S ENSEMBLE
is comprised of women in the adult choir who wish to enhance their musical experience by singing more challenging repertoire in a smaller chamber ensemble. The Women’s Ensemble may sing anthems separately at an adult choir mass, at special liturgies such as Confirmation masses, and occasionally a 5:00 pm Saturday mass. The Women’s Ensemble sings pieces written especially for women’s voices in 2-4 parts with an emphasis on renaissance and baroque repertoire. Rehearsals Thursday 6:30 - 7:15 pm
CONCERT HANDBELL CHOIR
rings the fourth Sunday of each month at 10:30am Sunday mass, and at the 5pm mass on the second Saturday. The Handbell Choir is open to children and adults of all ages. Any kind of musical experience is helpful (i.e. instrument or voice training), however, handbell music can be very quickly learned even for beginning musicians.
Rehearsals are Tuesday 6:45 - 7:30pm
SCHOOL HANDBELL CHOIR
in the St. Aidan School Ensemble. It rings on the first Sunday of the month. It is open St. Aidan School Students gr. 5 - 8
